When it comes to food, London doesn’t mess around. From street eats to Michelin stars, the city is packed with options. So in this culinary battlefield, one restaurant has made a name for itself with a menu that’s simple but oh-so-satisfying: welcome to Burger & Lobster Leicester Square.
You might’ve heard of it, or maybe walked past without realizing — their branding is pretty subtle. This time, we visited the Leicester Square location, just around the corner from Chinatown. The restaurant is wrapped in sleek glass with only a small cursive sign saying “Burger & Lobster.” Blink and you might miss it!
Inside, it’s surprisingly spacious and stylish, with slightly dim lighting that gives off a fine-dining vibe. Even though it was lunch hour, we saw a few solo diners (many of them Asian) quietly enjoying their lobster like true foodies on a mission — think “The Solitary Gourmet” vibes.
We were seated upstairs, which had a similar layout to the main floor — complete with its own bar — but what really caught our attention were the live lobsters chilling in their tanks nearby. Some were absolutely massive! We even saw a 3.3lb beast, thicker and longer than a grown man’s thigh. 😳
Of course, I had to try the Lobster Burger, a combo of 6oz beef patty + lobster meat. Sounds ultra-luxe, right? And while it was tasty, the beef really overpowered the lobster. The mayo-heavy sauce kind of drowned out the lobster’s natural sweetness. So if you’re here for the lobster, I’d skip the burger and go straight for the real deal.
Now this is what we came for — a 1.5lb grilled lobster, served with crispy fries and a fresh side salad. The claws were huge, red, and pre-cracked for easy access (bless the kitchen staff 🙏).
- The lobster meat was perfectly charred, bouncy, and juicy — rich with buttery flavor but not greasy.
- Try it first without sauce to enjoy the natural sweetness, then dip into the lemon butter for a different, layered taste.
- The claws were the MVP — packed with meat and even a bit of lobster “fat” (aka tomalley), which I scraped clean like a true fan.
Every bite was so satisfying, I didn’t leave a single shred behind. It was that good.
Was it cheap? Definitely not. But was it worth every penny? 100% yes.
From portion size to flavor and overall experience, Burger & Lobster delivered. I left with a full belly and a happy heart — even if my wallet was feeling slightly lighter. So here’s to you, dear lobster — you may have cost me a week of takeout, but I’ll remember your buttery goodness until we meet again. 💜🦞
