Swiss Chocolate in London, Covent Garden: Le Jeune Chocolatiers

Covent Garden, located right in central London’s Zone 1, is famous for its theatres, charming boutiques, and lively crowds. Whether it’s a weekend or a weekday, the area is always buzzing. With all that foot traffic, it’s no surprise that Covent Garden is packed with food gems — especially tucked away in its many alleyways.

I actually stumbled upon Le Jeune Chocolatiers thanks to the irresistible smell of cinnamon from the bakery next door. The line for cinnamon rolls was way too long, so we decided to check out the neighbouring chocolate shop — and what a sweet surprise that turned out to be!

Le Jeune Chocolatiers is a cozy little spot with a clean, bright design. It has a few small tables for dine-in, though it can get a bit snug when it’s busy. What first drew us in was the adorable holiday display in the window — a tiny Christmas village made entirely of chocolate! Talk about festive vibes 🩷

Then we noticed a sign on the chalkboard outside:

“All handmade chocolates crafted from Swiss chocolate.”

That was all we needed to know. Swiss + handmade = guaranteed goodness. I mean, who doesn’t love Swiss chocolate?

Despite the limited space, the owner was incredibly warm and welcoming. When he saw us admiring the chocolate display, he offered us each a full piece to sample — no strings attached! That’s not something you see every day in London.

The counter was filled with beautiful, handcrafted chocolates in all sorts of shapes and flavours. Each piece looked like a mini work of art, and we were even allowed to request specific ones to try before buying. It honestly felt more like browsing a jewelry store than a chocolate shop — except way more delicious!

Of course, being in a chocolate shop, I had to try their hot chocolate — and oh wow, it did not disappoint.

Smooth, velvety, not overly sweet, and packed with deep cocoa flavour, it was pure comfort in a cup. I originally hesitated at the £3.50 price tag, but after the first sip, it felt like a total bargain. Easily one of the best cups of hot chocolate I’ve ever had.

Le Jeune Chocolatiers might be tucked away in a quiet alley of Covent Garden, but it’s a total hidden paradise for chocolate lovers. With its top-quality Swiss chocolate, generous free samples, and heartwarming atmosphere, this place delivers more than just a sugar fix — it offers a little dose of joy in your day.

So next time you’re in Covent Garden for a show or some shopping, take a detour down one of the side streets. Treat yourself to a hot chocolate, pick out a few handmade truffles as souvenirs, and savour one of London’s most charming hidden treasures.
