After trying Banter Ice Cream in Abbotsford, the staff there recommended that if we were in Vancouver, we should check out Earnest Ice Cream. A quick online search revealed that Earnest has several locations, so we decided to visit the North Vancouver branch. As we approached, even before spotting the shop itself, we saw people everywhere holding ice cream cones, and a long line stretched outside.
The shop isn’t very large and felt quite packed once it filled up. We waited around 20-30 minutes inside before finally reaching the counter to choose our flavors. Unfortunately, several of the ones we wanted had already sold out, so we opted for the following:
- Sweet Corn Blueberry Swirl: This unique combination of corn and blueberry includes real corn kernels, giving the ice cream a delicate and smooth texture—perfect for those who enjoy innovative flavors.
- Pumpkin Spice Latte: Rich in cinnamon and pumpkin spice, this flavor is a must-try for cinnamon lovers.
- Whiskey Hazelnut: Brimming with whiskey aroma, each bite delivers an intense, full-bodied flavor that whiskey fans will love.
- Cookies & Cream: Classic Oreo cookie bits add a satisfying crunch to each bite, making it irresistibly tasty.
Earnest Ice Cream is made using the butter-churned method, which results in an incredibly creamy, rich texture. Although they use standard waffle cones, it doesn’t take away from the ice cream’s unique taste. Due to its popularity, I’d recommend arriving early to avoid missing out on popular flavors. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Earnest Ice Cream is definitely worth a visit. Next time, I plan to come earlier and explore even more flavors for an even better experience!
