Granville Island is a peninsula in downtown Vancouver featuring a public market with many vendors. While exploring the market, we found a very eye-catching canelé dessert vendor called La Bise Canelés. The staff very enthusiastically invited passersby to try samples. We were amazed after the first bite!
I have never tasted canelés with such a crispy exterior. Although the outside is crisp and firm, the inside is incredibly soft, and the taste isn’t overly sweet—it’s perfectly balanced! The sample was so delicious that I decided to buy some to take back and share with friends. There were so many flavors that it took a while to choose, but we finally settled on four: original, lemon, pistachio, and chocolate. The different flavors are really a matter of personal preference; they start with the original and add unique sauces to enhance the taste without affecting the overall texture.
I had never noticed this shop before, but one day it suddenly appeared right in front of me. Although there weren’t many customers when I visited, I believe the next time I go there, I might have to wait in line! 🤣
