We took a road trip to the charming town of Canmore, Alberta, surrounded by breathtaking scenery and filled with hidden culinary treasures. Lucky for us, a friend who’s working in Canmore knew exactly where to go. She guided us straight to a local favorite spot, Rocky Mountain Bagel Company, for a delicious bagel brunch. This popular bagel shop has two locations in Canmore; we visited the one just outside downtown. Despite not being in the heart of town, it was bustling with customers, showcasing its popularity.
After placing our orders, the server handed us a wooden spoon to signal when our food was ready. Just a short wait later, we were enjoying fresh, hot bagel sandwiches. Here’s what we had:
- BCLT: Three of us ordered the BCLT, one of their signature items. We each chose a different bagel type, and after toasting, the exterior was perfectly crispy. Filled with savory, crunchy bacon and Swiss cheese, alongside fresh lettuce and tomato, the sandwich had a delicious mix of flavors and textures. It was thoughtfully served cut in half, making it easy to enjoy every bite.
- Breakfast Lox: This bagel was topped with smoked salmon, egg, mozza, raw onions, and plain cream cheese. Before digging in, we added a few drops of lemon juice for a bit of zest. The flavors of the tender smoked salmon, crisp bagel, and lightly spiced onion created a perfect balance, offering a rich and layered taste.
- Latte: Be honest, the milk was watery, and the latte art was practically nonexistent. Wouldn’t recommend ordering it! 🙂↔️
Thanks to our friend’s recommendation, the four of us thoroughly enjoyed our bagel brunch experience. The prices here are reasonable, and the food is perfect for fueling up before a day of exploring Banff’s beautiful surroundings!
