Boudin has many branches in San Francisco and the one we went to is on Jefferson St. The first floor is a bakery, and the second a restaurant. There’s also a dining area and a place souvenir shop. The Bakery is huge with many people queuing up to order food. The dining area is spacious and comfortable so it wasn’t crowded.
We ordered the Classic Italian Sandwich and Clam Chowder with a Sourdough Bread Bowl. The Classic Italian Sandwich was decent. The Clam Chowder with Sourdough Bread Bowl is the signature here. The chowder is full of clams. Although it’s a thick soup, it goes very well with the sourdough bread. We tore the bread lid into small pieces and dipped them into the soup—this was the most delicious way to eat it! After finishing the soup, we tore the bread apart and ate it. The soup left on the bread made it less dry.
Before we left, we bought another sourdough bread and it was bigger than my face. Next time I come back to Fisherman’s Wharf, I will definitely visit this bakery again.

The restaurant has a prominent sign that reads BOUDIN. The logo is super cute. The dining area is very bright and spacious. Waiting in line to order! Heaps of round, cute Sourdough bread. Besides Sourdough, they also sell other types of bread. The other bread shapes are also very special. Baskets above the restaurant are used to transport bread. Pick up area They also sell some souvenirs here. Classic Italian Sandwich Clam Chowder with a Sourdough Bread Bowl Clam Chowder with a Sourdough Bread Bowl The lid of the sourdough bread bowl.
