My family and I came to Nantou to visit my brother. We decided to have lunch in Caotun, so my brother brought us to the ChunShuiAn(春水岸). The restaurant is modern and stylish, with a bright and simple interior that feels comfortable and welcoming. When we got there, it was quite busy due to the lunchtime rush, so we had to wait outside for a table. While waiting, we took a look at the menu. The menu is extensive, offering a variety of dishes including noodles, rice, and even small hot pots. By the time we finished looking at the menu, it was nearly our turn to be seated.
The signature is the malt-braised pork hock. The pork hock was tender and juicy; perfectly braised with a hint of sweetness from the malt syrup. It looked incredibly tempting and mouthwatering. My brother ordered the sesame oil matsusaka pork set meal, which looked very filling. Each meal came with three side dishes like bok choy or steamed egg. I chose the meat with pickled cabbage hot pot, which was packed with vegetables! We also ordered three side dishes: chinese turnip cake, garlic pork, and cheese potato balls. The Chinese turnip cake was especially good, with a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture that was definitely worth trying.
Chun Shui An also sells gift boxes, and they even their own homemade pressed bitter tea oil. To top it all off, the server kindly served us red bean milk popsicles as dessert, making us feel warmly welcomed. Overall, the food here was not only delicious but also very satisfying, and the convenient parking was a bonus. If you find yourself in Caotun, don’t miss out on the delectable malt-braised pork hock at Chun Shui An!
