When we visit Changhua WangGong, we always think about having oysters. With dozens of shops lining Fanghan Road, how can we find the most famous and delicious oyster spot? The answer is simple—just follow the crowd! Tucked away in Ren’ai Alley on Fanghan Road, the small shop “XiangZaiNei Oyster Fritter” is a hidden treasure that’s easy to miss. However, if you ask the locals where it is and notice the steady stream of tourists coming and going, you’ll know you’ve found the right place.
The shop’s name, “Xiang Zai Nei,” is Taiwanese for “inside the alley,” making it both simple and memorable. Even during non-peak hours on holidays, the place still has a lot of customers, and sometimes you might even have to share a table to have the meal. The prices are reasonable and the food is great, attracting both tourists and locals alike. The menu here is straightforward, focusing mainly on oyster fritter, so the chef fries a large number of oyster fritters every day. This experience allows him to perfect the thickness of the crispy coating.
First up was the pork fritter, which had a thin, crispy exterior. The combination of pork and chives was perfectly balanced, making it hard to stop after just one bite. Then came the signature—the oyster fritters, for which Wang Gong is famous. Freshly fried and still glistening with oil, the oysters added a new level of richness and texture to the already delicious pork fritters. The oysters were generously portioned, plump, and juicy, bursting with a fresh, sweet flavor in every bite—absolutely delicious!
After enjoying the fried oyster fritters, take a stroll around Wang Gong Fishing Port. Another must-see is the area’s largest temple, Fuhai Temple, which is definitely worth a visit.
