FanShuSi Eight Treasures Shaved Ice(番薯市八寶圓仔冰) in Yuanlin, Changhua, is a culinary gem steeped in traditional flavors. My mother has been enjoying their unique eight-treasure shaved ice since her school days. Its distinctive taste, along with its affordable prices, attracts locals and visitors alike.

A must-try is their eight-treasure shaved ice, priced at just NT$35 per serving, paired with a mixed mochi dessert for an additional NT$35. At first glance, the shaved ice may seem unassuming, but beneath the shaved ice lies a treasure trove of toppings. Stir it up and indulge in the delightful flavors of summer. The mixed mochi dessert is exceptionally soft and chewy, with one serving coated in sesame powder and the other in peanut powder. The sweetness is just right, with subtle fragrance that harkens back to simpler times.

Aside from their signature eight-treasure shaved ice, the shop also offers a variety of flavored ices and fruit juices, including plum ice and mixed fruit juice, providing visitors with even more choices. If you’re traveling or working in the Yuanlin area of Changhua, I highly recommend stopping by to savor these unique shaved ice, allowing your taste buds to reminisce about the joys of childhood.
