When visiting Jiaoxi in Yilan, you simply can’t miss the local delicacy featuring Sanxing scallions—scallion pancakes! One of the most famous spots for this treat is Ke’s Scallion Pancake（柯氏蔥油餅, a highly-rated stall that we made a special trip to try.
Located about a 20-minute walk from Jiaoxi Train Station, Ke’s Scallion Pancake is hard to miss. It’s right across from the post office, and the long line of customers is a clear sign of its popularity. Right next to it, you’ll also find another local favorite, Wu’s Peanut Ice Cream Roll. Try pairing a crispy scallion pancake with the sweet and nutty peanut ice cream roll, it’s the perfect sweet-and-savory afternoon snack combo.
We waited in line for about 10 minutes before placing our order. The menu is simple, offering just two options: original and spicy. Freshly fried on the spot, the pancake is perfectly golden and crispy on the outside while remaining soft and chewy inside. With every bite, the rich aroma of scallions fills your mouth, creating an irresistible burst of flavor. If you opt for the spicy version, the mild heat adds an extra layer of depth, making the taste even more satisfying.
