Coffee Shop in Torrey, Utah: Dark Sky Coffee

After wrapping up our road trip through Capitol Reef National Park, we began our journey back to Las Vegas and made a stop in the quiet town of Torrey, Utah. Though small, this peaceful rural town has a high-rated coffee shop called Dark Sky Coffee. Intrigued by its high reviews, we decided to give it a try.

Torrey itself isn’t big, and Dark Sky Coffee could easily be missed if you’re not paying close attention. We initially drove past it and had to circle back. The shop is in a small building standing on an open lot, with a convenient drive-thru area on the side (which we decided to use). The menu is filled with tempting options, and the friendly staff helped us make our choices. Here’s what we tried:

Dark Sky Frappe: This visually striking drink featured a blend of smooth ice and rich chocolate sauce, offering the perfect balance of sweetness and refreshing chill. It’s one of the café’s signature drinks, and with its moderate sweetness and cool appearance, it certainly lived up to the hype.
Iced Latte: Packed with strong coffee aroma and an exceptional taste, this latte stood out. It’s crafted from Dark Sky Coffee’s unique beans, blended with just the right amount of milk. The combination of coffee and cream was beautifully balanced, delivering a unique and memorable flavor.
Caramel Macchiato: This caramel macchiato was a pleasant surprise. The gentle sweetness of caramel complemented the slight bitterness of coffee, resulting in a mellow and rich taste. It’s ideal for those who prefer a coffee that isn’t overly sweet.

Contrary to our expectations of overly sweet drinks in rural America, Dark Sky Coffee truly impressed us. Each drink had just the right touch of sweetness, allowing the full-bodied coffee flavor to shine through. Their high Google ratings are certainly well-deserved—the drink quality is outstanding.
